Immortalise Your Mo This Movember

Immortalise Your Mo This Movember | eimageMovember is here and already we’re seeing some fuzzy fur and bumfluff on many a guy’s upper lip. It might be alarming at first, but it’s all for a good cause and we are in full support of it! Essentially Movember is all about raising awareness for illnesses that can cut short a man’s life. It’s also tied into raising funds for studies into these illnesses and how we can prevent them from affecting the men in our lives. They’re looking specifically at studies into:

  • Prostate cancer
  • Testicular cancer
  • Mental health and suicide prevention

This quote from the Movember South Africa website perfectly sums it up:

“The state of men’s health is in crisis. Men experience worse longer-term health than women and die on average six years earlier. Prostate cancer rates will double in the next 15 years. Testicular cancer rates have already doubled in the last 50. Three quarters of suicides are men. Poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute.

Our fathers, partners, brothers and friends are facing this health crisis and it’s not being talked about. We can’t afford to stay silent.”
